The goal of the symposium is to bring together leaders, practitioners, individuals with lived experience, and community partners to strengthen collaboration across prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm-reduction sectors. Through shared learning, innovative strategies, and meaningful dialogue, the symposium aims to accelerate coordinated responses to substance use, expand access to effective services, and inspire collective action that improves outcomes for individuals, families, and communities across Harford County and beyond.. Call for Abstract Submissions
The Office of Drug Control Policy invites abstract submissions for the 2026 Symposium on Addiction and Recovery, themed “Together for Change: Connecting People, Services, and Solutions.” The event brings together leaders, practitioners, individuals with lived experience, and community partners to advance collaboration across prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction.
We welcome abstracts for oral presentations that showcase effective programs, research, best practices, or emerging trends in the following areas:
- Children, Youth, Families & Generational Impact
- Treatment Approaches & Clinical Practices
- Trauma, Mental Health & Co-Occurring Issues
- Harm Reduction & Overdose Prevention
- Recovery Support, Housing & Employment
- Stigma, Culture & Communication
- Support for Special Populations
