Service requests
Requests for service or questions about road maintenance or snow removal should be directed to our dispatch office Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
We will request your name, address, phone number, and specific location of problem you are reporting. This information is logged in at our dispatch office and directed to the appropriate Highways staff.
After business hours
After normal business hours, please leave a message on our voicemail at 410-638-3532. After 3 p.m. weekdays or on weekends, report road emergencies (stop sign down, tree in road, missing manhole cover) to the Sheriff’s Office at 410-838-6600.

Duties
The Highways Maintenance Administrative Office consists of 15 employees who perform the following duties:
- Accounting
- Highways dispatching
- Inventory control
- Management functions
- Procurement
- Timekeeping
Responsibilities
Harford County Highways is responsible for maintaining 1,075 miles of Harford County public roads. We coordinate operations through our Administrative Office at the Hickory II facility.
District shops
District Shops coordinate special tasks with our Special Operations section to include bridge repairs, grounds maintenance, road surfacing, ditch line maintenance, road construction, drainage installations, traffic sign maintenance, and road marking.
