Harford County maintains 1,075 miles of roadway consisting of 685 miles of hot mix asphalt, 348 miles of tar and chip, and 42 miles of earth roads.
Responsibilities
Drainage improvements
- Extension of the storm drain system
- Installation of additional storm drain inlets where necessary
- Installation of drainage ditches where necessary
- Repair of failing storm drain systems
Intersection improvements
- Relocation for better turning movements
- Roundabouts
- Safety improvements
- Site distance improvements
- Widening to allow for an additional lane
Road improvements
Harford County is responsible for planning, engineering, designing and administering capital road projects, such as:- Horizontal and vertical and geometric improvements
