Sediment control must be addressed for all new development in Harford County that disturbs more than 5,000 square feet or involves the movement of more than 100 cubic yards of earth. Before any land-disturbing activity begins on developments that require sediment control, design plans that outline the sediment control practices must be submitted to and approved by the Harford Soil Conservation District.
For specific design requirements and legislation, please refer to the following websites:
All submittals must be processed through Harford County’s Development Review Process. As part of the process, Bonding and Permits coordinates the plan approval, bonding requirements, and permit approval process for the Department of Public Works. Any questions about project status or time frames for approvals should be directed to this office.
