Fallston Middle and High Schools Stream Restoration 

Construction is Complete! Construction crews are still onsite planting the stream and stormwater areas.

The purpose of this project is to improve water quality and stream health by stabilizing eroding stream banks and reconnecting the stream to its floodplain. The design is intended to improve aquatic habitat and reduce the amount of sediment and nutrients that enter Elbow Brook and ultimately the Chesapeake Bay. In addition to the stream restoration, the project also consists of a surface sand filter stormwater management practice to provide water quality management for drainage from the High School parking lot and a regenerative stormwater conveyance system to provide water quality improvement and stabilize a storm drain outfall from the Middle School parking lot.
