Senior Apartments
Most senior apartment units in Harford County are for persons age 62 and older, although a few accept younger persons with disabilities. There are usually no supportive services. Eligibility for these apartments is based on income.
Subsidized apartments for seniors
Rent differs from apartment to apartment. These are HUD (Section 8) subsidized buildings where rent is based on 30% of the resident's adjusted gross income. The properties have their own application process and waiting lists. Contact each building for application information.
Non-subsidized apartments for seniors
These are tax-credit buildings so their rents may be below market value. They may have a few subsidized units but in general if rental is needed, individual Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) are accepted. Contact each building for details and an application.
Housing Choice Voucher Program for rental assistance
