Harford County farmers can drop off used tires from their agricultural vehicles free of charge at the Harford Waste Disposal Center from January 28 to February 11, 2019. The center will accept tires from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every day except Sundays. Proof of residency will be required, and weekday drop off is recommended to avoid lines.
Passenger, light truck, and agricultural tires will be accepted from residential and commercial farmers only in Harford County. There is no limit to the number or size of tires, and tires may be on or off rim.
Non-farm commercial businesses and individuals are not eligible to participate in this program. More information about tire recycling for non-farm customers is available on the county website at https://bit.ly/2RGdc03.

Little ones and their parents play and learn in the natural world. Stories, songs, simple crafts and discovery outings will highlight each day's theme. The topics will be owls, snow, pine trees, deer, groundhogs, and hibernation. This program is for ages 0 to 5 (w/adult).

This course taught by Dr. Mark S. Johnson will provide a brief introduction to the world of winter birds and how they cope with changes in habitat and food choices. Thursday evening includes a discussion of avian physiology, systematics and identification, and ecology as it relates to many common winter birds. Saturday, observe feeder birds and mark and release them following an assessment of health. Participants will get a closer look at birds and obtain a greater appreciation of their unique adaptations including a background on how species develop and diversify. Registration is required. This program is for ages 12 to adult, under 13 w/adult.
