July 29, 2019 UPDATE: This project continues to progress and is nearing completion. However, while the County was anticipating the project to be reopened by the beginning of August, we wanted to make everyone aware that the contractor ran into an unanticipated issue with an underground utility. The County was informed prior to the start of this project, that all the utilities (cable, gas, electric, etc.) had been relocated by their owners. Unfortunately, near the end of June, the contractor discovered a particular utility that was not properly relocated and was a significant impact to their required work. It took the utility contractor two - three weeks to fix their error and the issue has caused the road reopening to be delayed. The County felt it was important to bring this information to the community's attention prior to August so that everyone is aware of the delay. Harford County apologizes for the inconvenience that this delay is causing, but the project is back on full production and we are committed to having the road reopened prior to the start of school. We fully appreciate your understanding, as we finish this important and multifaceted transportation project.
