Upper Bynum Run Stream Study (In Progress)

Bynum Run, a tributary to the Bush River, is located between Forest Hill and Abingdon, Maryland. The watershed or area of land that drains to the stream is 15,000 acres. The headwaters is located near the intersection of MD Route 24 and Jarrettsville Road. The Upper Bynum Run Stream Study will only include the area from MD Route 22 near Bynum Run Park north to the headwaters, or approximately 30% of the total watershed (shown below as the green line).

Report

The Upper Bynum Run Stream Study began in 2017.

A draft report is anticipated in early 2018 and will be available for public comment. The plan will include a list of potential restoration projects to improve stream health.

Bynum Run and its tributaries has been identified as impacted by sediment.  As a result Harford County was required by Maryland Department of the Environment to develop the Bynum Run Restoration Plan for Sediment in 2016.
