Reduced Bus Routes - Effective November 16, 2020

Harford Transit LINK Service Quick Facts

  • Hours: between 5:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
  • Wait times on Fixed Route Service will be extended due to the reduction of service going forward.
  • Routes 1, 2, 3, 5 & 7 will only operate with one bus throughout the day.   Please check updated “Reduced Service” schedules at www.harfordtransitlink.org
  • The Bel Air (Rt 6) and Aberdeen Circulator (Rt 4) will not operate until further notice.
  • Fixed Route buses operating will be at reduced passenger capacity due to Social Distancing.
    • When a bus is at “Capacity” the driver will change the Electronic Destination Sign stating “Max Capacity” and the bus will bypass stops due to capacity restrictions.
  • Demand Response Services will be reduced to medically necessary appointments and essential (Hospital Employee) trips only.  
    • This service will operate from 5 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on a first come, first serve basis, again, with limited capacity due to Social Distancing.
  • Fixed Route bus service costs $1.00 or reduced fare for seniors and persons with disabilities.
  • Demand Response trips cost: $2.00 each way, per person. 
  • Harford County Senior Activity Centers remain closed; there will be no service to these locations.

Ways to Pay


  • Token Transit: Riders are encouraged to use Token Transit for a cashless/touch-free ride. Download the free Token Transit app at www.harfordtransitlink.org (click on Token Transit) or by texting the word “TOKEN” to 41411. Once downloaded, call Harford Transit LINK at 410-612-1620 and press option 1 for assistance in getting the proper Token Transit pass set up for the expanded Demand Response Service.
  • Exact Cash fares will be accepted.

Safety Protocols

  • Face masks must be worn (an exception will be made only for children age two and under). Service will be denied to anyone attempting to board without a proper face covering. 
  • Proper social distancing between passengers is required. • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer is located at the front of each bus.

  • Buses are sanitized daily.
  • Passengers should try to limit touching surfaces like seat backs, bars, handles, etc.
  • Wheelchairs are limited to one per vehicle
  • Riders are asked to stay home if feeling unwell.

Harford Transit LINK is implementing these protocols for public safety that are aligned with recommendations for Governor Hogan, The Harford County Executive Glassman, the Maryland Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control.
